Yvonne S. Hicks

Yvonne S. Hicks, 66, of Oakwood, passed away at 4:29am on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Paxton, IL. She was born on March 13, 1944 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Shirley and Arline (Chapel) Tyler. Both deceased. She married Clarence Hicks on September 22, 1984, in Redding, IL. He survives along with one step-son, Russell (Stacey) Hicks of Clinton, IL. Her two step-grandchildren, Kathryn and Sarah Hicks, two brothers, Jay (Lisa) Tyler of Dwight, IL, Kim Tyler of Pontiac, IL, her sister, Yevett (Tim) Philippart of Michigan, seven nieces, Jennifer (Karl) Levik, Rebeka and Sarah Philippart, Jessica (Derek) Widener, Donna, Jayme, and Abigail Tyler, and one great-niece, Kayla Widener, also survive Yvonne. In addition to her parents, her step-mother, and one brother, Keith Tyler, preceded Yvonne in death. Yvonne worked in the food industry for several years. She enjoyed baking, traveling computer games, and being with her family. She will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of Yvonnes life will begin at 10:00am on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel located at 105 East South Main Street in Oakwood with burial to take place at Oakwood Cemetery following the service. Pastor Jan Miller has been asked to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the funeral home. The Hicks family has asked that any donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, and/or the donors favorite charity in Yvonnes name.
