Winnie Joy George

Winona (Winnie) Joy George went to be with Jesus on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She was born on Friday, August 12, 2016 to Samuel and Rachel George at Carle Hospital and remained in the Carle NICU. Winnie has joined her brother Clive, who also went into the arms of Jesus 14 months ago. Our time with her was simply too short. In our 9 days with her, we got a glimpse of the person God made her to be. She was beautiful, peaceful, and content. She is our wildflower, with a delicate frame, bright eyes, incredibly soft skin, and a beautiful fuzz of strawberry blonde hair. We enjoyed seeing her tiny smiles and expressions. She truly was fearfully and wonderfully made, and she was a good gift from God. We long to hold her and be with her again. We long for heaven, our eternal hope in God and in being reunited with our children. "Ah, but we want so much more We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words - to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it." (C.S. Lewis) In our position of deep lament and sorrow, it is easy to question God's goodness and sovereignty. We can't begin to make sense of it, but in the midst we continue to return to the fact that God must be good because He created Winnie-and she is so very good. He is near to the brokenhearted and rescues those who are crushed in spirit. Please continue to pray for our family as we journey this road. A service will be held at Connexion Church (2915 Townway, Danville, IL 61832) at 6:30pm on Friday, August 26th. A private burial will be held on Friday at Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Connexion Church to provide care packages to hospitalized and bereaved families. Sunset Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
