Winifred 'Winnie" L. Hazelwood

Lodi, Ind. - Winifred "Winnie" L. Hazelwood, 80, formerly of Lodi and a resident at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana for the past eleven years, passed away at 10 p.m. EDT Friday, March 28, 2014 at The Waters of Covington. She was born September 24, 1933 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Robert O. and Margaret E. McKey Smith. She married Paul Richard Hazelwood on November 21, 1970 in Lodi, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1995. Survivors include one daughter, Pat(David)Cory of Apple River, Illinois; two sons, Steve Wireman of Champaign, Illinois and Roger Hazelwood of Dana, Indiana; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Winnie was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Hazelwood; one sister and two brothers. Winnie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana. Winnie was a 1951 graduate of Danville High School. She enjoyed reading, traveling (especially to Florida) and cooking. Funeral services: 3 p.m. EDT Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Scott Randolph; Burial: Miller Cemetery, Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EDT Tuesday, April 1, 2014 until time of services at the funeral home.
