Winifred L. Neal

Winifred "Winnie" L. Neal, 93, of Danville, passed away at 9:14 a.m. Saturday, March 31st, 2012. Winnie was born on September 12th, 1918, in Georgetown, Illinois, the daughter of Andy O. and Inez M. (Howard) Collom. She married Clifford C. Neal on April 20th, 1962, in Milford. He preceded her in death on August 16th, 1991. She is survived by a daughter- Sharon Kay "Jim" Silvestro of Catlin; brother- Marvin (Imogene) Collom of Danville; two grandchildren- Brian Silvestro of Benton, Arkansas and Robert (Lori) Silvestro of Catlin; five great-grandchildren- Ashley, Elizabeth, Matthew, Allison and Madison Silvestro; sister-in-law- Marilyn Collom of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson- Michael Ray Silvestro, infant sister- Maxine Collom and a brother- Jack Collom. Winnie graduated from Georgetown High School in 1936. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life she loved going for rides in Kickapoo to see the deer and eating ice cream cones. A Celebration of the Life of Winifred "Winnie" L. Neal will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5th, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
