Winifred Coffing

Winifred Coffing, 97, of Covington, IN formerly of Mt. Carmel, IL passed away on May 2, 2016 at the Waters of Covington. She was born on January 20, 1919 in Cayuga, IN, the daughter of Warren A. and Winnie (Lindley) Randolph. She married Donald Coffing on October 13, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Winifred will be deeply missed by two daughters, Judy (Gene) Abney of Springfield, IL, Marsha (Bill) Wilkinson of Covington, IN; four grandchildren, Kevin Abney, Michael Abney, Kelly Harris and Stephanie Spangler along with six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers; Malcolm, Lindley, Warren S. and Aaron Randolph; two sisters, Viola Lyles and Mildred Samuels; one granddaughter, Stacey Wilkinson Meidel. Winifred and Donald owned and operated Sherrill Orchards in Mt. Carmel, IL until 1950 and then spent most of their time traveling. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, IN. A celebration of Winifred's life will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 4 PM EST at Sunset's Covington Chapel with Scott Randolph officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM EST prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at West Liberty Cemetery in Covington, IN.
