Winifred Ann Weeks

Champaign - Winifred Ann Weeks, 93, passed away on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at Bickford Senior Living in Champaign, IL. She was born on May 16, 1923 to Winfrey and Ruth (Wilson) English in Webb City, MO. Winifred married John Stafford Weeks on June 21, 1946 in Joplin, MO. Winifred is survived by her daughters Pamela (Jim) Braun of St. Charles, MO; Cynthia (Kim) Fraser of Champaign, IL; and Wendy Smith of Kewanee, IL; grandchildren Ben (Laura) Braun of Lexington, KY; Joel (Becca) Braun of Muncie, IN; Seth (Katie) Feldner of Ripon, WI; Matthew (Jenna) Fraser of Moline, IL; and Hannah Feldner of Philadelphia, PA; great-grandchildren Josh, Evie, Gilbert, Jocelyn, and Max; and sister Shirley (Bill) Cochran. Winifred is preceded in death by her parents, husband Stafford, brother David English, sister Janet English, and son-in-law Arnold Smith. Winifred enjoyed anything that involved her family and grandchildren. She loved being active in her community, especially Monmouth College and Faith Presbyterian Church where she was a member. She loved entertaining, playing bridge, hosting "tea parties", attending musicals and traveling with her husband and family. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Bickford Senior Living and Harbor Light Hospice for their supportive and loving care. Cremation rites have been allotted through Sunset Funeral Home 710 N. Neil Street, Champaign, IL 61820. A memorial service will be held in Winifred's honor at a later date in Monmouth, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Winifred's name to Jamieson Center in Monmouth, IL or the Alzheimer's Association.
