Wilma Wilming, 84, of Georgetown, passed this life on November 12, 2013 at home with her daughters at her side. Mrs. Wilming was a lifelong resident of Georgetown. She was the daughter of Bertie (Camp) and William Swank. She married John David Wilming on Feb. 8, 1947, in Danville. Mrs. Wilming is preceded in death by her husband, John, and daughter, Mary Ann Bryan. She is survived by: three Daughters, Brenda (Paul) Dehlinger of Greer, SC, Toni (David) Spence of Fisher, and Laurie Carter of Georgetown; her Grandchildren, Sean (Cheerie) Crook, Kevin (Aimee) Dehlinger, Brett Dehlinger, Becky Dehlinger, Blake (Jessica) Carter, Tara Carter, & Michelle Malivuk; her nine Great-Grandchildren; and special niece, Barbara Hinner. Mrs. Wilming served as a distinguished Alderperson for the city of Georgetown for five years. She was a member of the Georgetown First Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary (Sergeant of Arms), and Historical Society. She also assisted with the Georgetown First Church of Christ Food Pantry and Senior Citizen Center. Her contribution to the Churchs Stitch and Sew provided crocheted hats and blankets to children across the United States and South America. She retired from the Georgetown-Ridge Farm School District after 29 years of service. Mrs. Wilming had an inner strength, positive attitude, and spiritual faith that was a great inspiration to family and friends. Mrs. Wilmings family would like to thank the many family and friends who offered comfort and support through this difficult time. Mrs. Wilming extends special thanks to Terry Stahl for being a wonderful Sunday School Teacher. To special friends Kay and Dorothy “it will be all right.” A Celebration of her life will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Georgetown First Church of Christ. Phil Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Friday, November 15, 2013 at Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Memorial tributes may be made to the Georgetown First Church of Christ and the American Cancer Society.
