Wilma Ruth Ellis

Potomac - Wilma Ruth Ellis, 85, of Potomac, passed away at 5:28 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Arbor Rose of Tolono. She was born on July 8, 1932 in Hillery, IL to Harvey Oscar and Tressie Ruth (Larrance) Holden. She married Bobby Dean Ellis on July 7, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2001. She is survived by three children, Gina (Denis) Judy of Potomac, Sherri (Rick) Duchene of Bourbonnais, and Dirk (Mardi) Ellis of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Mary Lou Terry; six grandchildren, Kimberly David, Kile (Tara) Judy, Caleb (Kim) Judy, Tyler (Rachel) Duchene, Travis (Christina) Duchene, Jenae (Kyle) Beaudet; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a great-grandchild. Wilma had worked selling Avon and at Dr. Agusti's office before moving to her job at the bank in Potomac from where she retired. She was a member of Potomac Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School and ran Bible Quizzing. Most of all, Wilma loved to spend time with her family. A service to celebrate the life of Wilma Ellis will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Potomac Church of the Nazarene. Her son the Rev. Dr. Dirk R. Ellis will officiate. Burial will follow at Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service on Saturday, also at the church. Memorials may be made to Potomac Church of the Nazarene, or to the Alzheimer's Association. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
