Wilma L. Brandon, 102, of Urbana, passed away at 5:07pm, on Friday, March 15, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Oakwood on February 4, 1917 the daughter of Perry and Grace {Oakwood} Wilson. Wilma was married to Joseph R. Brandon in October of 1940, until his passing.

Wilma is survived by: her daughters, JoAnn (Jerry) Wallace of Homer, Jane Scott of Conway, AK, & Jean Baer of Iuka, IL; her sisters, Marion Stevens of Oakwood & Lena Long of Minnesota; her sisters-in-law, Catherine (Gary) Parks of Danville, & Adora Strohl of Homer; her ten grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Sally (Dennis) Heckler; her sons-in-law, Robert Scott & Ralph Baer; two brothers; and six sisters.

Wilma was a farmers wife and worked at W. L. Lewis Co. of Champaign. She later retired from Kraft Foods in Champaign. She was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and was known to be a friend to everyone. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed traveling with her daughters on vacation and traveling to Florida to stay at the vacation home. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Wilmas life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Oakwood United Methodist Church, 200 Oakwood Street, Oakwood, with Pastor Lee Legg officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Oakwood, located at 105 East S. Main St. She will be laid to rest in Davis Cemetery, Fairmount, IL. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Oakwood United Methodist Church or Carle Hospice Care.
