Wilma Dowers

Wilma Dowers, 86, of Georgetown passed away at 11:50 a.m. Saturday February 10, 2007 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She was born on July 24, 1920 in Jamaica, IL the daughter of Clyde and Naomi (McCormick) Carrington. She married Ralph Dowers on April 8, 1946 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2003. Survivors include: one daughter, Linda (Ben) Potter of Georgetown, one brother, Virgil (Margaret) Carrington of Homer, IL, and two grandchildren, James Cade Potter and fianc(c) Kim Myers of Rockford, IL and Benjamin D. Potter, of Peoria, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lois Minick and Betty Ligda. Wilma was a graduate of Catlin High School. She was a homemaker. Her and her husband raised dairy cattle and raised chickens and sold eggs. She enjoyed embroidering.
