Wilma Byrd

Perrysville, Ind. - Wilma Byrd, 90, of Perrysville, passed away at 10:35 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana. She was born April 5, 1925 in Georgetown, Illinois the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Holstine James. She married Sherman M. Byrd on January 24, 1944 in Newport, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2008. Survivors include two nephews, Joe(Tina)Byrd and Jerry Byrd both of Perrysville, Indiana; one great nephew, Bob Byrd of Perrysville, Indiana and one sister, Elizabeth(John)Allen of Kingman, Indiana. Wilma was preceded in death by her infant son, Richard Byrd; one sister, Wanda Byrd and two brothers, Willard and Wayne James. Wilma retired from General Electric in Danville, Illinois. She attended the Coal Branch Church in rural Perrysville, Indiana. Wilma was a 1943 graduate of Cayuga High School and a member and past treasurer of the Wabash Steam and Gas Club. Wilma was very active and enjoyed spending her time outdoors.
