William 'Wink' Gordon

Danville- William "Wink" Gordon, 71, of Danville passed away at 7:59 PM on Friday, January 13, 2012 at his home with his family. He was born on October 9, 1941 in Kankakee, IL to Teddy R. and Bonedia Forman Gordon. He married Patricia Ann Bell on August 28, 1999 in Danville at the Lone Oak Church of Christ. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Jean (Rob) Bates of Midway, Billy (Edith) Dowers and Cayuga, IN, and Larry Dowers of Georgetown; a sister, Thelma; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and Wink's best friend of 40 years, Steve Knutti, as well as special friends Alan Carter and Ray Lacey. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty "Jerri" Gordon, sons Jeffrey and Roger Gordon, three brothers and two sisters. Wink worked at Tee Pak for 40 years as a process operator and in the Die Shop until his retirement. He was also currently a member of Central Park Church of Christ. Wink was an avid Indiana University Sports fan and loved Jeff Gordon and collecting Jeff Gordon memorabilia. A service to celebrate the life of William "Wink" Gordon will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Raymie Gordon will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, January 16, also at Sunset in Danville.
