William Thomas Haines

William Thomas Tom' Haines, 66 of Danville, passed away at 2:34pm on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Key Club of Danville, IL. He was born on January 26, 1945, the son of James and Clarita (Houchins) Haines. Both are deceased. On August 25, 1979, Tom married Valli Lee Martin in Covington, IN. She survives along with four daughters; Cathy (Jerry) Ho of Colo, Cheryl (Mark) Conover also of Colo, Tina Haines, and Erin Haines, both of Champaign. His five grandchildren; Seth and Ashley Hoffman, Brock and Bryce Conover, Coby Carner, two sisters; Sherry (Dwight) Underwood, Sarah (Donnie) Horne, and several nieces also survive Tom. In addition to his parents, his daughter; Christy Haines-Luketich preceded him in death. Tom was employed with Hyster of Danville, retiring from the accounting department after 33 years of service. He also worked five years at Parsons Infrastructure at the Newport Chemical Depot in New Port, IN. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Danville. In the past he taught Sunday school, volunteered his time as usher, and enjoyed participating on the church baseball team. Tom also enjoyed the game of golf, as well as other sports, refereeing basketball for 18 years, and coaching basketball for 2 years at First Baptist Christian School in Danville. He will be missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of Tom Haines Life has been scheduled for 10:00am on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Faith Baptist Church located 920 Warrington Avenue in Danville with entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Al Rudie has been asked to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Monday, September 5, 2011 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made in Tom's name to the Association for Frontal Temporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087, or First Baptist Christian School.
