William Sharpf

William Patrick Sharpf, 63, of Fithian, passed away at 11:23PM, Friday, August 29, 2008 at his residence. He was born on February 20, 1945 in Danville, the son of Melvin S. and Mary (Nolan) Sharpf. Bill married Donna Gayle Cunningham on August 26, 1964 in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by one son, Patrick D. (Kathy) Sharpf and one grandson, Sloan Thomas Sharpf, both of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Thomas Sharpf, and two brothers, Paul and Jack Sharpf. Bill graduated from Oakwood Township High School in 1963 and attended the University of Texas-El Paso. He was a partner with his wife, owning the Illini Fence Company for 31 years. Bill also spent 18 years with Dynegy (Ameren-Illinois Power). He was a member of the Fithian United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Turtle Run Golf Club. Bill was an avid Illini and Cardinal fan. His passion was playing golf and spending time with his grandson. Bill was a lover of people, and never met a stranger. A celebration of life for William Patrick Sharpf will be held At 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Fithian United Methodist Church with Reverend Kim Dancey officiating. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery, Fithian. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bills name to the Fithian United Methodist Church.
