William Glen Richards

William Glen Richards went to his Lord and Savior on March 24, 2026.

Those who will greatly miss him are his son Everett Richards, his parents Glen and Rebecca Richards, his sister Teresa Richards, his brother Michael Richards, several nephews and nieces: Ian Richards, David Richards, Tavares Upshaw Jr, Laela Richards, Aiden Richards, Jenna Reyes, his grandmothers Shirley Kelly and Barbara Taylor, and many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

William was preceded in death by Grandparents Robert Kelly, William Richards and Carol Taylor.

William will be remembered for his sharp wit, great sense of humor, and his ability to make people laugh.

He was proud of his work as a Crane Operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 841 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He loved what he did and the people he worked alongside.

William enjoyed life. He was an avid pool player and also enjoyed bowling, even earning a 300 ring–a keepsake he leaves to his son. He also enjoyed online gaming, where he built friendships with people from all over the world.

He enjoyed most of all his time spent with his son, Everett. Whether it was playing chess together, playing catch in the yard or cheering him on from the sidelines at baseball, soccer, and basketball games, those were the times William treasured the very most.

More than anything, William was a proud dad. He leaves behind his son, Everett, who was the joy of his life. He talked about him all the time and loved him deeply.

William will be missed by many, but the laughs, stories, and memories he left behind won't be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held just the way he wanted it, with stories, laughter, friends and family at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Second Church of Christ in Danville, Illinois, 3350 East Voorhees Street, Danville, IL 61832, Tracy Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the church.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made in William’s memory to a charity of the Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL.
