William Richard 'Rip' Neild

GEORGETOWN - William Richard Rip Neild, 93, of Georgetown passed away at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday June 20, 2007 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. He was born on June 1, 1914 in Georgetown, IL the son of Fred and Goldie M. Lacey Neild. He married Juanita Winland on July 14, 1939 in Georgetown, IL. She survives. Also surviving: one son, Richard Allen Neild of West Lebanon, IN; one daughter, Betty Lou Crusen of Peoria, IL; one sister, Lucy Jones of Plainfield, IN, two grandchildren, Joseph A. Crusen of Peoria, IL and Douglas Neild of Carrolton, GA, two great grandchildren, Ethan & Courtney Neild of Carrolton, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John & Ralph, one sister, Viola Allen, and one grandson, Kevin Neild. Rip was a farmer before establishing the Mobile Manor Trailer Park on the north side of Georgetown. He was a past member of the Georgetown Cemetery Board and past President of the Georgetown High School board for nine years. Rip was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church. He was one of the original organizers of the Georgetown Fair. He was a Master Mason for more than 50 years and a member of the Shriners. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday June 25, 2007 at Georgetown Cemetery. Pastor Jennie Chin will officiate. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
