Tilton William Priest, 81, of Tilton, IL passed away at 2:17 PM on April 10, 2023 at the Waters in Covington, IN.
Bill was born on August 7, 1941 the son of Walter and Estella (Divan) Priest in Danville, IL. He married Patricia Miller on March 26, 1962 and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Priest of Tilton, IL, one daughter, LeAnne Nevels of Potomac, IL and one son, William Michael (Amy) Priest of Mahomet, IL, seven grandchildren, Marc Priest, David Brown, Hannah (Priest) Hall, Jared Priest, Andy Priest, Jaida (Dalton) Nevels, and Gaige Nevels, seven great grandchildren, Haley Brown, Natalie English, Alissa Brown, Kolton Brown, Marielle Priest, Jenson Strawser and Taylor, and one great-grandchild and one great great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by two brothers, Mark Priest and Jeff Priest, three sisters-in-law, Irene (Chuck) Mercer, Betty (Lonnie) Dupree and Patty Miller.
Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, one daughter, Diana Brown, an infant son, Michael Wayne, Priest, his mother and father-in-law, Alvie and Mildred Miller, five brothers-in-law, Alvie, Gary (Doris), Tom (Carmen), Walt and Kenneth Miller and several aunts and uncles.
Bill was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force from October 10, 1961 December 14, 1969. He retired from Heatcraft after 30 years and enjoyed spending his free time working on home improvement projects, working in his yard, building a variety of projects and watching Gunsmoke episodes on the television. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. James Blue will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
