William Pierce

William H. Pierce, 82, of Danville passed away at 1:04 PM on July 16, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

William was born on December 15, 1941 the son of Harold and Dorothy (Cary) Pierce in Stockland, IL. He first married Judy Haxton on December 7, 1962 and later married Carol Nixon on June 25, 1972 in Danville, IL and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2011. After the death of Carol, he married Linda Conley on November 16, 2013 and she preceded him in death on September 22, 2023.

Survivors include his children, Crystal Pierce, and Starla Anderson, both of Danville, IL, his stepchildren, Aaron (Amber) Craddock, Jackie (Toby) Rhodes and Melissa (Mike) Gnaden, as well as seventeen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

William is preceded in death by his parents, one son, William Pierce, two spouses, Carol Pierce and Linda Pierce, one brother, Robert Pierce and a grandson, Cody Frost.

William is retired from General Motors and enjoyed spending his free time watching Westerns, fishing, and camping. Most of all, William loved spending time with his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Mike Gnaden will officiate. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, IN. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the funeral home.
