William Ross "Moose" Kinney, 80, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 5:19pm, Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on August 25, 1935, the son of Charles Ross and Estella Blanche {Alderson} Kinney. He will be dearly missed by: his daughter, Cindy (Skip) Kelson of Westville; his granddaughter, Mandy Hendrix of Westville; and his granddogs, Mayle, Gracie, Addy, Wrigley "Piggy". He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, John Alderson; and his granddog, Elsa. Bill was a heavy equipment operator for the Highway Department. He was a member of the Highway Dept. Local #841. He served as the Elwood Township Road Commissioner. Bill also served his community in Ridge Farm as a part-time police officer. He was a Veteran of the National Guard. Bill loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughter as well as with friends. He also loved spending time with his six granddogs. He was a member of the Ridge Farm United Methodist Church and Ridge Farm Masonic Lodge. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor George Desmond officiating. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic service will be held at 1:00pm. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorial donations may be given in Bill's name to C.A.R.A. and the Humane Society in Danville.
