I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7 Tilton- William Henry Miller finished lifes race and entered into Heaven on May 18, 2008. His family was present when he passed this life. He was born on September 28, 1921 in Martinsville, Illinois to William A. and Opal (Colvin) Miller. He was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters. William was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John, Donald, and Max, and a sister Mertie Ramey. He is survived by two sisters Ona Mae Hall of Tilton, Patty (Cecil) Funk of Springfield and a brother Robert (Eileen) Miller of Danville, plus many nieces and nephews. On January 9, 1953, he took Janet Huber as his wife at the Oaklawn Church of the Nazarene. She also survives along with their two children Lavon (Keith) Nelson of Springfield and Timothy (Josia) Miller of Danville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Lydia Nelson of Springfield, William, Jacqueline, and Jordan Miller of Danville. William was a strong Christian, faithfully serving God and his church for over 50 years, holding many positions within the church. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in N. Africa, Europe, and the S. Pacific, and when the war ended, he was in Okinawa. He began working at the GM plant in Tilton in 1951 until retiring in 1984. William was a avid Cubs fan and also followed the Indiana University Basketball program. A Celebration of Williams Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL, with Pastors Dennis Dilbeck, Dave Anderson, & Ken Paulick officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, with Military Honors preformed by the VFW #728. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
