William Lewis Molloy, 77, of Catlin, passed away at 5:41 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Provena U.S.M.C. " Logan Campus in Danville. He was born July 6, 1928 in Danville, Illinois, the son of William E. and Mildred C. (Lewis) Molloy. He married Marjorie Allison on July 12, 1949 in Danville, Illinois, she survives. Also surviving are: one son " Michael (Cathy) Molloy of Catlin; one daughter " Susan (Dr. Ray) Owens of Lexington, IL; five grandchildren " Christopher Brad (Angie) Molloy, Michael Patrick Molloy, Brian David Owens, Meredith Joy (finance " Nathanial Hopping) Owens and William Albert Owens; two great-grandchildren " Marissa R. and Matthew A. Molloy; and two cousins " Barbara Lewis of Oregon and Patricia (Terry) White of Roscoe, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. William graduated from Danville High School in 1946, and later graduated from Brown Business College in 1948. He proudly served his country in the US Airforce from 1946 " 1948 with the 774th Airforce Band. He studied 7 years in the Ministerial Course of Study for the Methodist Church, and was ordained Elder in the Methodist Church in 1968. He served as pastor at Tilton Methodist Church for 3 years, Bismarck Methodist Church for 3 years, Sidell United Methodist Church for 9 years, and at Lincoln United Methodist Church in Danville for 19 years, until his retirement in 1992 after forty- plus years in ministry. He received the Harry Denman Evangelism Award in 1990 from the United Methodist Church Foundation for Evangelism. Bill enjoyed his faith, his family and his friends.
