William Johnson

William F. Johnson, 82, of Danville passed away at 5:30 pm Tuesday October 5, 2004 at North Logan Health and Rehabilitation Center. William was born September 8, 1922 in Canton, IL the son of the late Ira R and Alice Velma (Ashton) Johnson. William married Thelma LaVerne Somers on March 6, 1943 in Hannibal, MO. She survives. Other survivors include 1 son Montey (Barbara) )Johnson of Waterloo, IL. and 2 daughters Kathie (Mike) Bolender-Erwin of Sandy Springs, S.C. and Marsha (Kent )Matayo of Danville. 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 1 sister Della McLane of Bloomington, IL. 1 son Randle Johnson and 1 brother Willard Johnson and 1 sister Rose Capron, 2 stepsisters Violet McCord and Mildred Lockard 2 stepbrothers, Bernard Roberts and Roy Roberts preceded William in death. William was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, 3M Sunday School Class, United Methodist Men, Masonic Lodge #104 Lewistown, IL Scottish Rite of Peoria Mohammed Shrine, Peoria and Vermilion County Farm Bureau. He was an active Red Vest volunteer at USMC. William retired from farming and Agriculture Business and had been very active in Soil & Water Conservation, Kiwanis of Lewistown past 4 H leader and Lewistown Chamber of Commerce.
