William Hicks Jr.

CHAMPAIGN; William Wallace Hicks Jr., 80, of Champaign, passed away at 8:20 A.M. on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was born November 2, 1923 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of William W. and Marie Copely Hicks. He married Frances Harrison in November of 1941 in Buffalo, Missouri. She survives. Other survivors include 3 sons: William W. (Betty) Hicks III of Riverdale, Georgia, Stanley W. (Judy) Hicks of Urbana, Richard Hicks of Champaign; 2 daughters, Mary J. (Jack) Toombs of Marble Hill, Missouri and Lucetta A. (Jerry) Thompson of Parsons, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. His parents and 1 brother preceded him in death. Mr Hicks attended school in Monett Missouri, and served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to music, working in the garden and yard, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan.
