William Hambleton Mccormick

SAVOY- William H. (Bill) McCormick, 80, of Savoy, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Carle Hospital. Bill married Shirley Hamilton on January 18, 1957 in Henderson, KY. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, four children, Bob (Helen) McCormick of Beavercreek, OH, Mary (John) White of Charleston, IL, Mark (Jane) McCormick of Naperville, IL, and Jim McCormick of Urbana; a brother, Norris (Patty) McCormick of Terre Haute, IN; and six grandchildren, Kris (wife Danie), Rebecca, Kara, Matthew, Andrew, and Maggie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Maggie McCormick, and a sister, Tara. William worked for many years at F.W. Means and later retired from a career in maintenance at the Champaign County Nursing Home. He loved to laugh and never met a stranger. William was a proud Mason and veteran of the US Air Force. Family was most important to Bill. They miss him and will carry on his legacy. A Celebration of Bills life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November, 23, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil Street, Champaign. Visitation will start at noon. Burial will follow the ceremony at Calvary Cemetery in Philo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association in Bills honor.
