William H. White

Danville- William H. White, 87, of Danville passed away at 11:55 PM on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the Hawthorne Inn of Danville. He was born on December 24, 1925 in East St. Louis, IL to William H. and Eulalia Page Higgins White. He married Martha Josephine Grites on August 24, 1948 in Danville. She survives. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy M. Miranda of Collinsville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers. Bill served his country in the United States Army for two years. He went on to become the owner/operator of his photography studio, Art Kraft and later was a car salesman for Win C. Smith for several years. Bill was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree member in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the American Legion Post #210 and was an avid sports fan. Bill enjoyed bowling and basketball, and especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts. A funeral mass will be held for William White will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. Father Ted Pracz will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery where military honors will be performed by American Legion Post #210. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Thursday, December 27 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Holy Family Catholic Church.
