William H. Citizen, 87, of Danville went to be with our awesome Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Bill was born in Danville the son of Walton and Wilma (Higgins) Citizen on May 9, 1929. Bill married Genevieve Winn on May 22, 1948 at Central Christian Church, she survives. Also surviving Bill is a wonderful caring daughter, Lynn Citizen, one grandson; Shawn (Sheila) Owen, four special great-grandchildren; Madhu, Shyama, Dharmik and his miracle girl Amaya. He loved them all. Also, he will be deeply missed by his dog, Maggie. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Bill worked at C&EI Railroad as a carman. He later owned his own company, William H. Citizen Company which was a retail door to door sales. Bill was a wonderful wood worker, he made clocks, shelves and specialty crosses. He loved giving crosses away to church friends and relatives. He also loved spending time in his woodworking shop. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Keyser of Ridgeview Baptist Church which Bill was a member of. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Donations are to be given to Ridgeview Baptist Church in Bill's name.
