William G. O'Neil

William G. O'Neil, 73, of Danville, passed away at 11:18 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born April 7, 1940 in Powers, MI to Walter and Alice (Marlow) O'Neil. Later in life he was a son to Clara (Sedelmeyer) O'Neil. He married Joellyn Estes on October 14, 1961 in Danville. She preceded him in death in 2008. Surviving him are two sons- David O'Neil and Michael (Amy Zilko) O'Neil both of Danville, three daughters- Marcy Leuzinger, Alice (Frank Hoskins) O'Neil and Patty (William) Day all of Danville, one brother- Wally O'Neil of Tilton, seven sisters- Maxine Musgrove of Danville, Shirley (Gene) Price of Danville, Patsy Hronek of Green Bay, WI, Shelby (Al) Monaco of Port Orange, FL, Sally (John) Lisick of Cayuga, IN, Linda (Bobby) Woods of Catlin and Carmel (Ellis) Mellinger of Long Beach, CA, four grandchildren- Derek, Billy and Jenna Leuzinger and Anna Carroll and two step grandchildren- Britanee and Kathy Carroll. William was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one infant daughter- Michelle O'Neil, three brother in laws- Bobby Musgrove, Richard Hronek, Richard Hebert and one sister in law- Diane Leisch. He worked for O'Neil Brothers Construction Company for 50 years before retiring in 2002. William was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong member of the Operating Engineers Local #841. He loved playing cards, going on drives, hunting for deer, country music, and was known for his sense of humor. He was very passionate about his family and his work. Joellyn was the love of his life. A Christian Mass of Burial will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Ted Pracz officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville from 3:00-7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Danville. Memorials can be made in William's name to Holy Family Catholic Church.
