William Frank Rudd, 90, of Elgin, IL, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 11:20pm, Friday, September 11, 2009, at Maplewood Care in Elgin. He was born on August 24, 1919, in Georgetown, IL, the son of Raymond and Maude (Onley) Rudd, both deceased. Survivors include: his daughters, Sharon Libolt of Peoria, IL, & Christine Timmermann of Berkley Heights, NJ; his son, Bill Rudd of Sunrise, FL; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his brothers, Bob & Harold and his sister, Louise Bond. Frank was a proud Veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He had worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the Army. He worked at the steel mills in Gary, IN, and power plant in Pekin, IL. Frank enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bowling. He loved to tell jokes. A celebration of Franks life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Jennie Chin to officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service on Saturday. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
