William Earle

William D. Earle, of Danville passed away on March 1, 2010 at Illiana Health Care System in Danville. William was born January 30, 1928 in Mahomet, IL son of Charles and Emma Cooley Earle. He married Dorothy Quick on January 19, 1951 in Danville. She survives along with two children: Sundy Vinson of Danville and Mary (Ed) Keyes of Carrollton, VA; brother: Joseph Earle of Cayuga, IN; sister: Dorothy Stuebe of Mattoon, IL; seven grandchildren: Nicole, Andrea, Julie, Heather, Elizabeth, Jessica, and Chad; eight great-grandchildren: Emily, BreAnne, Abbigail, Colby, Shelby, William, Jacob, and William David. He was preceded in death by his parents, son William H. Earle, son-in-law William Bunch, grandson William David Bunch, four sisters and three brothers. William served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and enjoyed being stationed in Anchorage, AK. He later retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, horseshoes, but most of all he loved spending time with friends and family. He was an avid Bears fan and loved attending his families sporting events. A Celebration of Williams Life will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Chaplin Paul Witt officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
