William Earl Bush Jr., 79, of Danville, passed away at 6:16 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at his residence. William was born on January 20, 1926 in White Heath, Illinois, the son of William Earl and Lucy (McVey) Bush Sr. He married Winifred Ludwig on April 14, 1946 in Hope, Illinois. She survives. He is also survived by 1 son- Bill (Sandy) Bush of Danville; 2 daughters- Diane (Jack) Webb of Arvada, Colorado and Margaret (Dan) Houpt of Oakwood, Illinois; 7 grandchildren- Sean, Kevin, Cody, Aaron, Todd, Charlyn, and Jason Reynolds who is proudly serving his country in Iraq; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister- Jean Strasheim. William graduated from Oakwood High School in 1944. After graduation he joined the United States Marines. He served during WWII from 1944 to 1946. He served in Tinian, Sia Pan, and Iwo Jima. After the military he worked as a truck driver. He owned his own trucking business in Oakwood. William has spent the last 40 years as a farmer, farming north of Danville. He enjoyed fishing and working in his shop. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served as a 32nd degree mason. He was a board member of the Vermilion County Conservation District for 5 years. He also served on the Blount Township Board for several years. A celebration of the life of William Earl Bush Jr. will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. Doug Hargrave officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Williams name to the Vermilion County Conservation District.
