William "Bill" Polick, 85, of Danville passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on January 2, 1935 to Mary (Wilbur) and Pearl Polick in Vigo County, IN.
Bill is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Patsy; and siblings Leroy Polick and Anna Greenwell.
He leaves behind two sons, Bradly Polick and Bryan (Monica) Polick; two daughters, Tammy Sue (Larry) Neahring and Kimberly (Paul) Lamb; five grandchildren, Melissa, Chance, Alek, Dawn, and Aaron; five great grandchildren, Taylor, Kacie, Caleb, McKenna, and Madison; brother, Wallace Polick; sister, Althea Oakley; and special friend, Gladys Miller.
Bill joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He married Patsy Ruth Bessie Wilson on Christmas day in 1956. Bill retired from General Motors in 1992 where he worked as an electrician for 27 years. After retirement both him and Patsy began traveling across the United States in their Fifth Wheel Trailer. They wintered in Arizona and most recently, Florida. Their excursions included trips to Oregon, Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and Alaska where they made many friends. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving around the local parks in the area. He liked to play Euchre and watch Westerns. Bill worked at Walt Disney World every summer for many years, which he loved to do. Most of all Bill loved his family. He was a wonderful dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. He will be missed dearly by those who loved him.
Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. Per Bills wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Family requests any memorial donations may be made in Bills name to Shriners Hospital.
