Danville - William Collins, 78, of Danville, formerly of Florida, passed away on February 6, 2014. He was born April 24, 1935 in Toledo, OH. The son of Stephen and May Marquardt Collins. He married Jennetta Priest in 1963, in Florida. She has since preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Terasa Collins, Jackie Smith, and Jane Schingel; his sons, Bruce Smith and Craig Smith; and many grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jennetta, his sister, Irene, and one brother. William was a man who enjoyed being outdoors, he loved fishing and being in nature. William served his country when he was a young man in the marines; he was a marine until the end. William lived in Florida for a number of years and while he was there he was known for his helpful nature. He was not above going the extra mile to help a neighbor in need. He was also very active in the Home Owners Association in Satsuma, Florida. Above all else, William loved his family; especially his wife whom he loved and cared for until the end. He will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. There will be a private family graveside service commemorating Williams life on a later date at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Please join the Collins Family in sharing memories, pictures, and videos of Williams life on his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
