William Charles Nickle

Dr. William Charles Nickle, 76, of Covington passed away on Saturday January 5, 2019 at Carle Hospital in Urbana. He was born on February 26, 1942 in Clinton IN the son of Ernest W. and Ruby R. Bean Nickle. On August 31, 1962 William married the love of his life Linda Kay Moudy and they have spent the last 56 year together, she survives.

Also surviving William are his four sons, Daniel W. (Lisa) Nickle, Kenneth L. Nickle, Joseph R. (Christy) Nickle, James E. (Rochelle) Nickle; two brothers, Thomas W. Nickle, Michael R. Nickle, one aunt, Doreen Bean, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 1 great-granddaughter, several sisters and brothers-in-laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins, including his special double cousins Carol Sue Hoyt and John D. Nickle.

William is preceded in death by his parents.

William was formerly from Hillsboro, IN where he graduated from Hillsboro High School. In 1986 William graduated from Bob Jones University in Greensville SC with a Bachelor of Arts degree before attending Andersonville Theological Seminary Where he received his masters in 2003 and his Doctor of Theology in 2006. William was the former principal and teacher at First Baptist Church and Christian School in Covington. He was pastor at both Cates Community in Cates, IN as well as Mt. Carmel Baptist in Perrysville, IN. He was a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Danville, IL and also started the Grace Baptist in Attica, IN, he had churches in Burnsville, NC and Greensville, SC and assisted with Maranatha Baptist Church and Community Bible Baptist in Veedersburg. He also spent many years doing missionary work and traveled the world helping those in need. William spent many years of his life working in the farming industry and driving trucks. His last place of employment was with Mac Van in Covington. William was a member of the National Guard and loved raising horses all his life. Although Christianity was a huge part of Williams life the most important thing was his family. Whether it be fishing or mushroom hunting he love spending time with them.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Memorial donations may be made in Williams name to the Lighthouse Childrens Home in San Jose Costa Rica.
