William C.'Bill' Strader

William C. Bill Strader 81 of St. Petersburg, Fl formerly of Danville passed away at 12:38 A.M. Thursday March 9, 2006 at Tandem Health Care in Altamont, Fl. He was born February 15, 1925 in Danville the son of George and Helen Wall Strader. He married Ruth Hall on February 4, 1951 in Danville she preceded him April 8, 1988. Surviving are four sons, Phil Strader of Casselberry, Fl, Chuck Strader of Urbana, Danny (Liz) Strader of Danville, Tony Strader of New York, New York, six daughters Ruth (Rick) Wakefield of Altamont Springs, Fl, Donna Whitington of Danville, Mary (Martin) Lipa of Danville, Cathy (Les) Moulton of Danville, Georgia (Carl) Lipa of Arnold, Mo, Patty (David) Mercer of Wichita Falls, TX, three brothers, John Strader of Danville, Richard Strader of Florida and Donald Strader of Illinois, twenty seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded by his parents, one brother and one sister. Bill was an architect and owned and operated Strader& Strader Architect Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during W.W.II. Bill was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus; he was a former Danville Streets Commissioner. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and drawing, most of all he loved spending time with his family. A celebration of life funeral service will be 10: 00 A.M. Monday March 13, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Sunday March 12, 2006 at the funeral home Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post # 210 of Danville.
