Covington, Ind. William " Bud" Callahan, 63, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 2:30 a.m. EST Friday (January 5, 2007) at his residence in Covington. He was born May 7, 1943, in Wabash Township, Fountain County, Indiana, the son of the late Russell and Iva Craft Callahan. Also preceding him in death, a infant grandson and a sister, Dorothy Lyons. Bud and Nancy May Goodwin were united in marriage August 26, 1962 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, rural Covington. Bud will be deeply missed by his wife, Nancy, their children, Chuck (Debbie) Callahan of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Sharlene Scott, Shelley (Donald) Lancaster and Dan (Danielle) Callahan all of Covington, Indiana; his eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. He will also be missed by his four sisters, Delores (Bob) Reese of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Alberta (John) Huston of Covington, Indiana, Linda (Dave) Busenbark of Russellville, Indiana, Betty (Max) Kelch of Defiance, Ohio and a brother-in-law, Leland Lyons of Covington, Indiana. Bud was a 1962 graduate of Perrysville High School. He was a member of the Stringtown Church of God. He worked 35 years for Olin/Flexel of Covington and the past six years with Master Guard of Veedersburg, Indiana. Bud enjoyed working with his hands, helping people, mowing, going to the lake and cookouts with his grand kids. Services: 10 a.m. EST Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Stringtown Church of God, South of Covington; Officiating: Pastor Paul Kirby and Rev. Keith Klossner; Burial: Coal Creek Cemetery, Covington, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Sunday, January 7, 2007 and after 9 a.m. EST Monday, January 8, 2007 until the hour of service at the Stringtown Church of God. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Serenity Hospice, Fowler, Indiana with envelopes available at the church. DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
