William "Bill" J. Siddens

Danville – William “Bill” J. Siddens, 87, of Danville passed away at 10:50 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at home with his family. He was born November 26, 1937 in Danville to Forrest M. and Mary L. (Davan) Siddens. He married his wife of 64 years, Becky (McGee) Siddens, on February 16, 1961. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Vicki (Dave) Sorauf of Hilton Head, SC; Chris Bott of Danville, IL, Millie (Tim) Edwards of Carrollton, IL, and Joe (Liz) Siddens of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three sisters, and two brothers.

Bill began his education at Liberty Grade School, a one room schoolhouse, and went on to graduate from Bismarck High School. At the age of 18, Bill began work for the Danville Grain Inspection Department as a grain inspector. He retired at the age of 63 ½ after working for over 40 years. While still employed, Bill served his country by enlisting in the United States Army Reserve from 1960-1966 based out of Danville.

Bill was a man of few words, but you felt the love and devotion he had for his family. He will be dearly missed by them.

A service to celebrate the life of Bill Siddens will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Pastor Ed Stone will officiate. Cremation will follow services with inurnment at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the services on Monday, also at Sunset in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
