William 'Bill' Rutkowski

William (Bill a/k/a Baba pronounced bay ba) Rutkowski, 85, of Georgetown, peacefully went to be with the woman of his dreams for 47 years, his beautiful wife Naomi, at 6:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Presence USMC, in Danville. He was born in Georgetown on January 30, 1931 to the late Anthony (Tate pronounced totee) and the late Cornelia (Radomski) Rutkowski. He was the baby of the family and was loved dearly by his sister, the late Claire (late Eugene) Kulpit, the late Joanne (late Edward) Burke and Patricia (late Albert) Schrishuhn. He is survived by his ever loving niece and nephew-in-law Madonna (Joseph) Kulpit-Bialek, his loving nieces and nephews and their spouses, Denise (Bill) Garvy, Sharon (Stan) Smola, Carol Ann (Kurt) Huddleston and Debra (Charlie) Lembke, Kevin (Jeanne) Burke and Brian (Lynn) Burke along with several great-nieces and great nephews. He also leaves behind his loving friends and neighbors, Dennis, Janet, Dolores, Chuck and Joey. Bill lived in Georgetown all of his life except when he proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan having played football and ran track in high school and he certainly loved his Chicago Cubs. He was a very hard worker as a builder having built 63 homes in the area including his parent's and his own. But he was the most proud when he talked about being a coal miner for many years just like his Dad. After retiring he enjoyed making a home for Purple Martins every spring. He enjoyed sitting on his porch watching them catch bugs and he anxiously awaited the birth of the babies. Every conversation during that time of year was about his Martins. Bill and Naomi loved life. They would go to Florida every winter for a month and traveled to several places throughout their marriage. But he always agreed with his Dad that his backyard was his Florida. His yard is proof of his love for nature. You could see him several times a week cutting his grass. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. His stories, jokes and laugh will be forever in the hearts and memories of those he held dear. May he forever be in peace with his family, dogs and cats. Love you always Uncle Bill, Baba, Bill. XOXOXO A celebration of Bill's life will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Sunset-Houghton Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. He will be entombed at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville.
