William Bill Moreland, 78, of Indianola, passed away at 10:00am, Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at his home. He was born on November 16, 1930, in Indianola the son of Chester Chet and Dorothy (Chandler) Moreland. He was united in marriage to Doris Berry on September 12, 1953, in Kane, IL. She survives in Indianola. Other survivors include: his son, William Doug (Laura) Moreland of Indianola; his daughters, Lois (Dan) Cornwell & Tammy (John) Snoddy of Orange, TX; his grandchildren, Ashton Moreland, Chet Moreland, both of Indianola, Megan Cornwell, Sarah Cornwell, both of Austin, TX, Erica Snoddy, & Frank Snoddy, both of Orange, TX; and his sister, Ruth Knight of Rossville, IL. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Jim Moreland. Bill was a lifelong farmer in Vermilion County and was a member of the Vermilion County Farm Bureau. He was an active member of the Indianola United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and gardening, especially rose gardening. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, & grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all of them. A celebration of Bills life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Indianola United Methodist Church. Pastor Ed Logan will officiate. Visitation will be 4p-8p, Monday, March 2, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Bills name to Indianola United Methodist Church.
