William 'Bill' Long

William "Bill" Edward Long, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away in the comfort of his own home at 4:00 PM on July 4th, 2019. Bill was born on April 29, 1936. He Married Joyce West on June 25, 1953 in Danville. She preceded him in death in 2012. Bill worked at Davies Packing House and retired from Lauhoff/Bunge after 35 years. He was a workaholic. He loved to play pool and was known as the "Pool Hustler" at Ducks Tavern in Georgetown. He loved raising animals, from his cows, to rabbits and birds, but especially his love for his dogs. He was so very awnry and loved to play pranks. He really enjoyed watching Family Feud and was a huge Cubs Fan. He always decorated for Christmas while adding new animated decorations each year. He loved sending Grand Kids home with goodies and some sort of trinkets. He sure did LOVE his A&W Root Beer, he would tell kids to come have a "Beer" (root beer) with him. He was a man that if you needed anything, he was there and would do anything to help someone out. He was great at teaching and guiding how to work and fix things. "He was a Jack of All Trades and a Master of None" Bill leaves behind his sister Helen(Eddie) Spencer, Linda(Nick) Conner. Daughters; Toni(Rick) Billbe, Patty(John) Wagner. Son; Mike Long. Grandkids; Tim Billbe, Travis(Tina) Billbe, Angie (Billy) Williamson, Bobby Durnell (Gracie), Ryan Durnell, Justin Long (Logan), Kaylee, Michael, Gage, Haydin, and Caydin Long, Toby (Angel) McDaniel, Shawn McDaniel. Great Grandkids; Jericho & Lora Billbe, Tyler, Nick, & Maylee McDaniel, Dylan, Cory, Abby & Colby Williamson. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Howard & Goldie Long, his Beloved wife Joyce Long, Brothers Howard "Buddy" Long, Carl Long and Sister Beverly Nelson. Granddaughter Haydin Long.

A celebration of Bills life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Sunset Covington Chapel 420 3rd Street Covington IN 47932 with Ryan Sowers officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington.
