William 'Bill' Hutson

William "Bill" Hutson, 72, of Georgetown, passed away on September 30, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana surrounded by family. He was 72. Born June 26, 1951, in Clinton, Indiana, he was the son of Elsie (Cook) and William R. Hutson. They preceded him in death, along with brother Michael Hutson and infant son, Daniel Edward Hutson. Bill graduated from Jamaica High School in 1969. He worked at Hyster for more than 45 years in fabrication, assembly, and parts distribution. Bill was eclectic, appreciated a wide variety of music and was always up for an adventure. As a young man he worked at his family-owned Sunoco stations in Indianola and Georgetown, as well as the Pit Stop tavern in Georgetown. He raced the #17, a 1971 Mustang, in stock car races in Vermilion County in the late 70s. He enjoyed attending car shows, listening to bluegrass music, and riding motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson. He rode out west with friends to locations like the Rocky Mountains and the Badlands National Park. He loved spending time with his grandkids, camping and watching Westerns, including Gunsmoke and John Wayne movies. Bill was a member of the Ridge Farm Friends Church. He leaves behind his wife Shari, whom he married in 2003, brother Gene (Cathy) Hutson, sister-in-law Lori Hutson, son Eric (Amanda Ross) Hutson, and daughters Katie (Daniel) Weathers, April (Jason) Evans, Andrea (Thomas) Winn and Amber Bonomo; grandchildren Bailey (Robby), Daniel, Conor, Boston, Brody, Elizabeth, Reece, Addie, Jude, Penelope, Jonah, Calvin, Lillian, and Lilah. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Ridge Farm Friends Church, 19 E North St, Ridge Farm, IL 61870. Pastor Joe White will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ridge Farm Friends Church food pantry.
