William 'Bill' Hardesty

William "Bill" Albert Hardesty, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away in the comfort of his home at 8:37 AM on July 1st, 2019. Bill was born May 22, 1939. Bill leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Joan Hardesty, whom he married on December 26th, 1969.

Bill loved to dance and sing. He won hundreds of jitter-bug contests with his wife, Joan, who he won over by serenading her in the car to Elvis Presley songs. He served in the Navy and was a plumber in the pipe fitters union for most of his life. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying in his spare time. He was truly a jack of all trades. His favorite sports teams were the Dolphins and Cubs. But most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandkids, great grandkids, and yes even GREAT great grandkids.

You may have seen his smiling face at several grocery stores around town always searching for the best deal, but he always made sure to share those deals with those he loved the most. He was always trying to send us home with goodies whenever we stopped by to see him.

Grandpa was the man who held our family together. If there was ever anything you needed from a tool, to plumbing advice, to someone to come rescue you because you ran out of gas for the millionth time he was the man to call.

Bill leaves behind so many people who love him and who he loved dearly. In addition to his wife, Joan, he leaves behind his sisters Barbara Pierce, Virginia Hanson, Mary Duckworth. Sons; Mark (Karen) Hardesty, Scott Hardesty. Daughters; Cheryl (Rudy) Hueneke, Lisa (Jeff) Martin, Sherry (Tony) Forshee, and Jan Hardesty. Grandkids; Toni (Mike) Starr, Farrah Powell, Brandon Hardesty, Jai Custer, Ryan Stiffler, Erica Baldwin, Serena (Ryan) Stipe, Marc (Danielle) Hardesty, Alise (Jerod) Hardesty, Leon (Molly) Kavis, Denitra (Dennie) Petersen, Destinee Hardesty, and Wilder Petersen. Great Grandkids; Patience (Kyle Franklin) Humblet, Serrenity Holmes, Jakarrah (Ethan Smith) Dandridge, TeDrona Brown, Lariaha Watson, Alayah Luster, Adam (Heidi) Splane, Colton Splane, Armanii Custer, Blaiz Johnson, Lexi Groshelle, Emma Hardesty, Bentley, Tasha Kavis, Madaya Kavis, Sean Kavis, Kiana Kavis, Blake Kavis, and Wilder Kavis. Great Great Grandkids; Brooklyn, Weston, Gavin, Annistyn, Creed, Kashton, Londyn, and Lillian. His beloved puppy, Molly. And many cousins and great friends.

Whew, thats a lot of love, huh?

Bill is preceded in death by his daughter Katie Hardesty and her infant son Forest, his great granddaughter Honesty Kiley, and his parents Pearl Albert Hardesty and Eva Mae Stone.
