William C. Bill Hanover, 78, of Danville, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Provena USMC in Danville. Mr. Hanover was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on July 30, 1931, the son of Robert and Estella (McCollough) Hanover. Survivors include his four children, Ronald (Janice) Leiker of Denver, CO, Cynthia Hanover of Danville, Deborah (Gerard) Hones of Greensboro, N.C., and Lori Harris of Danville. His nine grandchildren, Joshua Hones, Shelly (Eric) Rogers, Tiffany Leiker, Travis Leiker, Kelli (Nick) Fentress, Adam (Mandie) Hanover, Britni Schroeder, Heather Rios, and Jeremy Rios. His nine great-grandchildren, Blake, Hailey, Alexis, Elijah, Sara, Dustin, Sebastian, Natalia, Aden, and his sister, Lola Bisner of New Castle, IN all survive Bill. His parents, one sister, Ruthie Lane, and his brother-n-law, Lee precedes Bill in death. Bill was a Korean War Veteran serving with the United States Army from 1949-1953. His activities after the service included, attending Community Holiness Church in Cayuga, IN, reading the Bible, spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Snuggles. William also enjoyed his favorite beverage, Coffee at anytime. His hobbies were woodworking, and growing roses. A Celebration of Life Service for William Bill Hanover will began at 10:00am on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center.Burial will take place at Danville Nation Cemtery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 9am until time of service at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center.Memorial condolences may be in Williams name to the American Heart Association.
