William 'Bill' Hamilton

Danville - William J. "Bill" Hamilton, 70, of Danville passed away at 3:55 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on October 12, 1944 in Danville to Jerry and Sophie (Waclaw) Hamilton. He married Nancy Jones on March 16, 1968. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Robin (Doug) Trimble of St. Joseph and Jeremy W. Hamilton of Bloomington; a sister, Genevieve Neal of Danville; three grandchildren, Zachary Parks of Urbana, Andrew Parks of Normal, and Jenna Parks of St. Joseph; sister-in-law, Sandra (Terry Wilkus) Potter of Danville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Pam Cooley of Danville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Everett and Kathleen Jones; brothers-in-law Steve Potter, Ronald Jones, Tom Neal, and Bill Johnson; sister-in-law, Dottie Jones; and a sister, Rita Johnson. Bill attended St. Mary's Grade School and was a 1963 graduate of Westville High School. He later worked as a Union Meat Cutter for 40 years, retiring from Eagle Country Market in April of 2001. He continued to process deer after retirement from his shop at home. Bill was a member at Faith Baptist Church in Danville since 1975. He loved his church and served as an usher and head usher. Bill also loved golfing, trying new places to eat, joining his morning coffee group at McDonald's, and spending time with his family. A service to celebrate the life of Bill Hamilton will be held at 10 AM on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church in Danville. Pastor Allan Rudie will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, September 27, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church or the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
