William 'Bill' Clutter

William Bill Clutter, 88, of Terre Haute, IN, passed away at 9:30am EDT, on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born on May 2, 1922, in Danville, IL, the son of Hanson and Mrs. ( Boyle) Clutter. They are both deceased. On May 3, 1952, Bill married Jo Anne Roderick in Danville. She survives along with three sons, Michael Joseph (Janette) Clutter of Terre Haute, IN, Michael William Clutter, and Stephen H. Clutter both of Danville. His nine grandchildren: Jeff (Sarah) Clutter, Chris Clutter, (his Fianc(c), Jessica Billups), Makayla Clutter, all of Terre Haute; Billy Clutter, Jamie Gee, Molly Clutter, Andy Clutter, all of Danville; Josie Clutter, and Steven Clutter, of Myrtle Beach; Ashley I Miner (Janettes sister which Bill considered as his other granddaughter) of Terre Haute; sister in-law Doris (Leo) Milius; brother in-law John (Ruth) Roderick; sister in-law Pauline Clutter; and many other dear and cherished family members also survive him. In addition to his parents, his first wife, Rose (Repasy) Clutter, one son, M. Edward Clutter, three brothers, Joe, Ed, George, and one sister, Irene, preceded Bill in death. Bill was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. After the service, Bill was employed as a machinist for the General Motors Tilton Foundry for 30 plus years. He enjoyed boating and fishing on the Wabash River, and sitting on his porch overlooking the lake at the Lake of the Ozarks. He also enjoyed visiting the ocean and cherished his time spent with his family. A Celebration of the Life of William Bill Clutter will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville with military honors being held by Danville American Legion Post#210.
