William "Bill" Clarkston

Kingman, Ind. -- William "Bill" Clarkston, 87, of Kingman, Indiana and a resident of the Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville, Indiana since November 2007, passed away at 8:37 a.m. EST Monday(March 3, 2008) at St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was born May 14, 1920 in Clay County, Kentucky, the son of the late Elihu and Mary Frances Bull Clarkston. He married Edna J. Burke on July 1, 1942 in Fowler, Indiana. She preceded him in death on October 3, 1996. Survivors include his children: Patricia(Terry)Tibbett of Covington, Indiana; Mattie(Larry)Fouty of Indianapolis, Indiana; William Earl(Vickie)Clarkston of Wellington, Illinois; Betty(Ricky)Rahm of Covington, Indiana; James W.(Lori)Clarkston and Roger(Frances)Clarkston both of Kingman, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by two sons; two sisters and four brothers. Bill was a retired farmer. He also formerly worked at the Newport Ammunition Plant and Harrison Steel. He enjoyed gardening. Funeral services: 2:30 p.m. EST Thursday, March 6, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Sam Guilliams; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EST Thursday, March 6, 2008 until time of services at the funeral home.
