William 'Bill' A. Huffman, Sr

Danville - William "Bill" A. Huffman, Sr., 83, of Danville, IL passed away at 10:49 AM on October 8, 2017 at his home in Danville, IL. "Bill" was born on February 10, 1934 the son of Oda Don and Pauline Elizebeth (Cobb) Huffman in Danville, IL. He married Dolores Claire Geary in Philadelphia, PA on December 26, 1953. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dolores Huffman of Danville, IL, one son, William Huffman, Jr., of CA, one daughter, JoAnn O'Malley of MI, one sister, Marjorie Hervey of OR, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren, as well as his beloved dogs, FiFi 1, FiFi 2, Peaches 1, Peaches 2, Winkie, and Polly. "Bill" is preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Lee, one daughter, Cindy Lue Rogers, and one brother, Oda Don Huffman, Jr. "Bill" served his country in the United States Navy, was a Conductor on the New York Central Railroad for 18 years and later worked as a Master Gardener for 8 years in California. He enjoyed watching birds, fishing, and gardening. Most of all, "Bill" was a great husband and loved his wife and family dearly. A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Danville National Cemetery. Pastor Wade Martin will officiate.
