Willa Mae Billie Olmsted, age 85, of Danville, passed away at 4:05 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Danville Care Center in Danville. She was born December 1, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Leslie Joseph and Alice Blanche (Clark) Bonar. She married Charles L. Olmsted on February 21, 1948 in Chicago. He preceded her in death in March of 1983. Billie is survived by two sons: Charles Alan Olmsted of Davenport, Iowa, Timothy Lee (Brenda) Olmsted of Rochester, IL; two granddaughters: Abigail Alice, Elizabeth Carol; several nieces and nephews; and two dear friends: Vera Lamar and John Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother: Kenneth Bonar, and two sisters: Grace Hall and Donna Lou McQueen. Billie worked as a cashier at Noble Ford in Danville along with staying at home and raising her family. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a past member of the First Presbyterian Church of Danville and a member of the American Business Club Auxiliary (AMDOES). She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. A celebration of the life of Billie Olmsted will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Billies name to the American Heart Association.
