Wildena 'Joy' Ellis

West Lebanon, Ind. - Wildena 'Joy' Ellis, 80, of West Lebanon, passed away at 11:08 p.m. EST Monday, December 13, 2021 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East in Lafayette, Indiana.

She was born April 15, 1941 in Parke County, Indiana the daughter of the late Gernon 'Dutch' and Elizabeth L. (Newnum) Marshall.

Joy married Fred L. Ellis on July 3, 1958 in Vermillion County, Indiana. He survives.

Other survivors include her children: Fred (Barbara Sue) Ellis of Danville, Illinois; Karen (Kevin) Peterson of Covington, Indiana; Judy Ellis Allen of West Lebanon, Indiana and Denny (Casey) Ellis of Williamsport, Indiana; eleven grandchildren: Shaun (Correna) Ellis, David (Tasha) Ellis, Joshua Dean Loveall, James Allen, Nicholas Ellis, Zachery (Lesha) Brooks-Ellis, Trey Brooks-Ellis, Jenna (Ben) Loveall, Haley (Josh) Allen, Shelby (Daniel) Joza and Bailey (Austin) Hurst; eleven great-grandchildren: Toby Ellis, Cameron (Cierra) Ellis, Lucas Ellis, Oliver Jaramillo, Kaylee Loveall, Annika Ellis, Sierra Loveall, Maelee Allen, Brooklyn Newlin, Elaina Joy Jaramillo and Piper Joza; one sister: Sondra Trinkle of Tangier, Indiana; two brothers: Ore Paul Marshall of Dana, Indiana and Ricky (Barbara) Marshall of Orange, Texas.

Joy was preceded in death by her sister and four brothers.

Joy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington, Indiana. Joy formerly sold Avon in the Vermillion County, Indiana area for many years. She enjoyed cooking, making noodles and pickles, going to thrift stores and yard sales. Joy also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and watching her favorite NASCAR driver Tony Stewart before he retired.

Graveside services and burial: 2 p.m. EST Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana. Officiating: Pastor Kenneth Jones. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
