Wilbert Merle Mullins, 84, of Danville, passed away at 4:47am, Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Provena USMC. He was born May 3, 1924 in Humrick, IL, the son of Edgar Borin and Effie Annie (Trosper) Mullins. He married Millie Mae Henson on May 18, 1964 in Veedersburg, she survives. Also surviving: two sons, J.R. (Tonia Sue) Mullins & Michael Leon Mullins, both of Danville; three daughters, Debbie Lee (Phillip) Fuller of Danville, Katrina Lynn Chamblin of Florida, & Cathy Diane Mullins of Marion, IN; one brother, Gerald Mullins of Lodi, IN; two sisters, Margie Kennady and Joanne (Don) Scott, both of Lodi, IN; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Frank Mullins; and a sister, Katherine Elliott. Wilbert retired from G.M in Tilton after 18 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He enjoyed camping, fishing and watching Westerns and any type of Military programs. Most of all, Wilbert loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 20, 2009 at Georgetown Cemetery. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
