Wendie Dae Urban

Wendie Dae Urban (nee McMillan), 84, of Danville, IL passed peacefully on October 23, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.

Wendie was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Harvey McMillan and her sister Leah Garza. Wendie was a loving wife to the late Alexander Urban. She took great pride in making their home and together they enjoyed traveling and their involvement with the GAO Grotto.

Wendie is survived by her daughter Stacie (John) Ballard and grandchildren Jordan (Patricia) and Lexi (Mary Liz) Jayne-Ballard. Wendie spent the last two years as “GG” to Jordan “JB” Jr., her great grandson who she loved dearly. She cherished her many friends and always looked forward to their next outing. Wendie was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan and will be remembered for her spunk, red nail polish, and love for her family. She will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life for Wendie will take place at 2PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1PM-2PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the funeral home.

Memorials in Wendie’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
